The tea is harvested from bushes that are more than 135 years old and were initially planted by the British. The flavor is prominent as the weather is also dry and cool, ensuring slow growth. The plucking is of such fine quality that the tea can only be hand-sorted, and the machines used to make the tea are very few in number. The garden workers carefully pluck the leaves by hand and pick only the best shoots with prominent buds. This tea has a traditional Darjeeling fresh flavor with a prominent flowery character.
