Kalai Dal Bori or Urad Dal Bori or Biuli Dal Bori is sundried lentil drops made out of Kalai/Biuli/Urad Dal paste through handmade skilled operation and sun-dried thereafter. From the refined pallet of the zamindars, the Posto Bori has found its place in quality Bengali cooking. The Posto Bori is made from Kalai/ Buli/Urad dal mixed with Posto or Poppy Seeds and makes for a light but tasty appetizer. Hing Bori is primarily Kalai/Urad/Biuli Bori where Hing (Asafoetida) gets sprinkled at right proportion. Hing (Asafoetida) is added with Kalai/Biuli/Urad dal paste & made into Hing Bori through handmade skilled operation and sun-dried thereafter. All the Bori can be had simply by frying the Bori and having it as a crunchy side dish or by putting it into any dish like Shukto, Shak Ghonto, Vegetable curry , Fish curry or just Bori potato curry.
