Kuler Achar or Sweet and Sour Berry Pickle is a favourite Bengali pickle that finds home in dining tables of a Bengali house hold. This kind of berry comes during spring, mostly eaten raw but the ripe ones get sun dried first and thereafter turned into pickles at a kitchen and exposed to sun again for purification. Aamsatto also known as Aam Papad, Aam pulp blocks etc. itself is a tasty edible product. For turning it into sweet pickle a block of Aamsatto is cut into very thin slices and cooked in pure sugar syrup, spicing is done thereafter. This Mishti Achar carries the taste of actual mango, sweetened and spiced to make it a sweet pickle of its own identity. It is an irresistible side dish.
