• The Chalkidiki olive variety takes its name from the northern prefecture of Chalkidiki where they are mostly cultivated (along with the prefecture of Kavala). They account for more than 50% (about 80,000 tons) of total table olive production of Greece. Chalkidiki olives are large sized, with a coninal-cylindrical shape ending in a nub. Their size means they can be presented in many ways, including stuffed with complementary foods such as jalapeno, piri-piri and lemon. Chalkidiki olives are handpicked from their trees while still green, so the harvest begins earlier than with other varieties, between the middle of September and middle of October.
• They are fantastic for adding sophistication and medium spice to appetizers and cocktails. The weight of a Chalkidiki olive ranges from 4 to 14 grams but is most commonly between 6 and 10 grams.
• Our founder, Leonidas Konstantopoulos was born in 1930 in a small village close to the city of Kalamata, in the prefecture of Messinia, Greece, an area renowned for cultivating some of the finest olives in the world. Growing up in a traditional agricultural environment, he inherited from his family the passion, knowledge and love for the cultivation of olives that was the main family occupation.
• Leonidas Konstantopoulos travelled all over Greece to source the best quality olives and this diligence won him great respect and trust as a purveyor of quality.
• Everything changed in 1979 with the opening of Leonidas' first processing and packaging facility. His youngest son Prokopis, after completing his studies in engineering, expertly bridged the gap between the wisdom of tradition and modern technical advances, which saw the company grow rapidly.

Our historic traditional flagship brand "Olymp", is synomymous with great taste and superb quality. The "Olymp" brand is named after Mount Olympus, ancient home of the gods, at the foot of which lies our Katerini processing plant. It offers table olives in many varieties, sizes and packaging. Our excellent green table olives come in a range of varieties and also stuffed with complementing foods, such as garlic, almond and red pepper paste.
